Kosnin

Sara Seligman
Mexico, 2017, 12 min.

In Totonaca with English subtitles.
This film is family friendly.

10-year old Hector wants to 'fly,' like the voladores in his community. His single mother can't afford the costs, but Hector is determined to achieve his dream, and through hard work and a little help, sets out to do what others in his community have done for generations - FLY.

Director's Statement

The Totonaca people are some of the nicest, kindest, most generous people I've ever met. We want to bring awareness to them, their traditions and their culture. Hopefully our story will also help so that any child that wants to be a "flyer," can be. While there are many documentaries that capture the magic of this ritual, however we go deeper, into their everyday lives. We also believe that by making a narrative film that captures their culture, we might be able to reach an entirely new audience. Hopefully we can make even the slightest difference in the future of this amazing community, and help preserve their rich culture.
