Innovation, community, overcoming adversity and following your dreams; the colourful personal and creative journey of outback Australian milliner Felicity "Flic" Brown as she overcomes the odds and prepares to take on the fashion world at her first solo show at prestigious New York Fashion Week.

Director's Statement

MADHATTAN follows one remarkable woman's journey from the red dust of the Australian outback's remote Kimberley region as she takes her magnificent feathered and flowered creations to the catwalks of New York Fashion Week. I wanted to make a film about a strong, creative female character taking on the world from a remote place and hopefully it will inspire audiences to pursue their own goals and dreams. The film features a beautiful country jazz fusion soundtrack from former Go-Between composer Amanda Brown and acclaimed jazz musician Jonathan Zwartz. MADHATTAN is my first long form documentary as both Director and Cinematographer.

Category: Documentary.
Themes: Fashion, Culture, Health, Women, World Cinema.
