Director's Statement

Last Taxi Dance reckons with timely themes of dialog and reconciliation, while helping viewers understand more about the outcomes of war and the occupation of an indigenous people. The journey of this film is an arrival at understanding between two very different characters, told through the songs and dance of the piece. Featuring contributions from Native Hawaiian and Asian-Pacific artists, we hope the conversation around the film will invite reflection on vital issues of tolerance and history both within our islands and across the country.
