Director's Statement

Growing up in communist Albania, I was completely unaware of the fear and oppression the government was inflicting in the lives of its people, not only because of the communist propaganda, but mainly because my parents never talked about it, fearing I would get the word out. Only 10 kilometers from my town there were these villages, whose people the government had forced into internment just because of something they had said. Internment is an effort to shed some light into the cruelties and absurdities of this particular time.
